Disable autoplay - not only for pen-drives but all other devices, as well.

For insurance, use the immunize function through Yamicsoft Windows 8 Manager.

Even though disable autoplay of usb, i still doubt because of the amount of virus gets into USB from public computers

Disabling autoplay does not disrupt auto-boot for the said USB device - so, no problem.

Righto - quite true!!!

If you are the paranoid type (like me) you can also disable all other USB devices, completely - except your very own personal one/s.

By disable, I mean absolute inability of your system to access the same even if the User wanted to - I do audit all USB and CD/DVD devices on a stringent case-to-case basis (while whitelisting the hardware DNA of just my own devices.)

Simplest method ive used for over a decade (which has been posted every time someone posts some bs "usb drive security" software):

On the usb pen/harddrive, create a folder named autorun.inf

That simple

No disabling autorun universally

No registry hacks

No extra bs software needed.

Use Autorun Virus Remover v3.3

website : www.autorunremover.com

you can find it here : http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/177945-autorun-virus-remover-33-build-0712/?view=findpost&p=607286&hl=%2Bautorun+%2Bvirus+%2Bremover

It's launched with Windows and as soon you insert a pen drive or an external HDD you'll get a popup window saying it's safe or gives you an invit to remove "autorun.inf" and other infected files if necessary.

Like Tucker, i use panda usb vaccine from long years ago to now and don't have problem cause if a virus go on your USB Pen he can't run cause the autorun.inf that was create by panda usb was impossible to delete, only format can wipe the autorun.inf.

I use everyday my USB Pen in a public and private computer for my work and never trouble.

My reason for suggesting Yamicsoft Windows 8 Manager was that we know that you already have it installed on your system:--

Click your Start button and just start typing the word AutoPlay - you will find it displaying towards the top of your Start Menu (press your Enter key when AutoPlay is highlighted):--
