Sunbelt VIPRE Fix

So after a trial on my laptop with VIPRE, I decided that I would use that instead of ESET Smart Security.

There are two fixes for the program that are on the nsane.down site, one of them being a trial reset & another being labeled as "fix" only.

Here's what I'm talking about.

I used the fix and VIPRE still says I have a 15 day trial.

Does the "fix" completely register the program or does it simply freeze the trial? If it does the latter of the two then I will have some digging to do.

Could some light be shed on this subject?

Thanks :)

It simply 'freezes' the trial... so you basically hav ethe full product.

:) But with certain programs dont you have to validate to get the full extent of the software?

EDIT: Maybe not in this case. I just dont like using trialware. It vexes me so to no end...

I know what you mean. But yeah for Vipre, as long as the trial is frozen you get to use the product as if you purchased it without worries... (Well until a new VERSIon of it is out that is, then there is a risk the trial reset might not work)

With antivirus and other security related software its always fully functional software, because if eg an antivirus which a company gives you for a trial with only half its functioning and you get infected during that period it would be a very bad advertisement for that company. So no company will ever do that. The only limitation which only i think eset has is the update server for the trialware are different and slower then the validated software. So you dont need to worry at all about your antivirus fully functioning or not while being used as a trial. I hope this answers you query.

Alright thanks for your answers Cultivator

After thinking about it for a while I came to the same conclusion. One thing you said does raise an alarm for me though. If Vipre doesnt update as fast, & say I fall victim of a new virus, I'll still get infected right? Speaking in hypothetical terms only but just asking the question.

Maybe I'll find something that fixes this problem for me. If not I'll just use the trial freeze...

Sorry for the confusion caused by listing two fixes (with the same result). Maybe I should only leave the box' one in.

Its cool. My confusion was gone after some explanations by Cultivator & mana. ;

The other one is a trial reset though right? That sounds different than a trial freeze to me.

Like I said, I dont use trialware. If some of the questions I ask sound nooby I apologize.
