Display art effect on adjusting the LCD lid

I think, my laptop is taking its last breaths. Today while adjusting the LCD lid, the display turned into solid color. The color depends upon the color of the wallpaper. I have a green wallpaper so the phenomenon shows greenish solid color. It gets fixed same way in some position when adjusting the lid again. Sometimes have to restart.

I also found that the bottom-center part of the LCD is heating up a bit nearly 50-60C. Looks like some kind of malfunctioning.

So what is it?

Looks like you need to revisit your own thread.

Edit:--

On second thoughts, it's also quite possible that the ribbon of wires leading from your LCD into the bay (under your keyboard) might have one or more cracked wires just waiting to break-off completely.

It could even be the case where the ribbon of wires might be in fine shape but there could instead be a failing component.

This laptop was purchased in the worst day of my life.

3 months later the DVD writer dies - replace within warranty.

6 months later HDD dies - replaced within warraty.

14 months later the DVD dies again - no warranty no repair, who needs it anyway.

2 years later the HDD dies again - repalced at 4500 bucks. Later repair that myself.

3 years later GPU dies due to overheat - replaced for 5000 bucks.

3.7 years later the display art effect pops up.

Fcuk you sony!

Do also uninstall and then install your graphics driver (with the latest release, of course) - just to make sure.
