Kalju
Is it possible and how it suppose to update Windows 8 directly to Windows8.1 update 1 ?I do not understand what you mean, which is Directly update. But of course you can.Just start installing, follow the instructions and You get the result, so that everything is retained, and even the settings can be retained.Later, you only need to delete the old Windows. I suggest using => Wipe with CCleaner, not simply to delete.
dcs18
Is it possible and how it suppose to update Windows 8 directly to Windows8.1 update 1 ?I would not suggest doing that. :)It's always advisable to perform a full and clean install rather than attempting an in-place upgrade - remember the 8.1 Update is a major version release when compared to Windows 8 (it's even considered by many as a different and new OS.) :showoff:

dcs18
Windows 8.1 can be updated through the Store - not Windows Update.Windows 8.1 Update can be updated through Windows Update. Both the above are examples of an in-place upgrade, not a full and clean install - both the above methods can bring the User to immense grief, later on. nsanelyi
I need that method also if there's any as the OP asked. I have Win 8 Pro activated through VL phone activation. Windows store says that I can't update to 8.1 through the store. Any trick/process where I can update to 8.1/8.1 Update 1 without doing a clean install?
