torrent downloads r unstable it depend on the seeders and ur ISP is also probably prioritizing Protocols (QS= quality of service) .....

IDM is the fastest download manager available in the planet. So, no way you can get that speed with other download manager. Torrents are known for their slow download speed. That's usual - not a bug.

IDM usually use http-s FTP (80-21) thats why those port are so fast

Err port forwarding, change the port your torrent client uses, as quite a few are blocked by ISP's for this reason.

I agree with A.lemane. It depends on the torrent and the seeds/peers. Some torrents can come in at lightning speeds and others can take days

Well as said before, there are many factors involved starting from your internet plan, your ISP blocking or restricting torrents, than torrent seeders & peers. If all is well with your internet plan and ISP (assuming you have 900kb/s plan as you said), one cann't guarantee that you will get every single download even with IDM at 900kb, forget about torrents, that's controlled by seeders/peers.

Using internet accelerators won't increase your internet speed if your plan doesn't support it. But, they can help you optimize your PC's network setting to better throughput.

Speed_zps207c854a.jpg

that's probably the limit of ur network card bandwidth in b/s witch mean ur download speed is almost 9 MB/s and upload 2.4 MB/s

its not actually BT Also do Fibre to the home which they give 100Mbs as standard and are testing 160Mbs in some area's but quite honestly do I need it?? NOPE

Simply use any torrent leech sites then grab your files with IDM :showoff:

@don2

before you set your utorrent..etc

check first your Download speed go here

then you check your ISP shape/block or not your torrent port go here

OR here you GO

Make Screenshot as proven...that's it you're Done....let's go.

No matter what you do, your Torrent speed will always be slower that your IDM speed. :(

If the disparity is quite high, then your ISP might be throttling just your Torrent download/s as matter of service policy.

It's also possible that your Torrent client is not optimally configured - needs to be aligned to your upload speed.

First of all check your DL quota speed from your ISP eg my Speed

please show your test Download Speed...

On test Speed also watch your PING TIME test Lowest is better

TO test PING/JITTER go here

your JITTER TIME see image below:

Example one of a good PING / JITTER test (Packet LOSS=0%)

@don2

How to calculate your download speed

for example we have handppone 3.5 G is said to be at the speed of 3.2 Mbps (Mega bits per second) means

the same as 3.2 Mbps divided by 8 = 400 KBps (Kilo bytes)

As another example, by reference to 1 Byte = 8 bits, then:
256 kbps is equal to 258/8 = 32 KBps
1 Mbps Dedicated equal to 128 KBps x 8 = 1024 Kbps / 1 Mbps

You said you could / have download speed with IDM is 900KB/s

reffering to calculate parameter above mentioned:

it's mean you have quota or equal with 900KBP/s x 8 = 7200KBP/s (7.2MB/s)

did you have speed 7.2MB/s...your Screenshot please..
