After using my 1 TB external HDD, I lock it away in my drawer - I use the latest dimpled 11-lever Godrej lock. :P

On a serious note, you can also check whether Folder Lock suits your purpose - I don't use any of these (was using Steganos, in the distant past.)

Bitlocker?

You can only use this if you use windows seven ultimate and up (correct me if Im wrong). You dont want to use folder lock to easy to decrypt (the encrypted key is located in the registry and its algorithm is weak). You can try steganos or AEP Pro or PGP pretty good privacy (which is considered by some to be the best at one time law enforcement failed to crack pgp which doesnt say much no ones worried about law enforcement they are worried about the nsa read the article below). I honesty recommend letting the people auditing it currently to complete there audit of truecrypt (there auditing the software looking for backdoors to see if the nsa or if anyone else put any in thanks to the news about nsa) before using it:

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2048248/heres-how-to-best-secure-your-data-now-that-the-nsa-can-crack-almost-any-encryption.html

It can help. Also if you want free encryption and dont feel like download software you can always try windows built-in drive encryption it uses AES one hundred and twenty eight bit. If you cant find download links to any encryption tools I have mentioned I can locate them and provide them if necessary..

No drama here.

People are going to be happy with any of the encryption programs here except folder lock. I personally recommend PGP in order to use bitlocker to its max your motherboard needs the tpm module (trusted platform module) and only newer motherboards have it you can use bitlocker without a tpm module system integrity checking is disabled if you decide to. Your only wanting to lock your drive pick any like I said I dont recommend you use folder lock..
