avmad
The culprit is Malwarebytes! Uninstall it and all is good. B)Yep random posting I know. It's something I've been having trouble with for too long.Thought I'd post incase anyone else is struggling with the issue. (I've seen more people having the same problem)Not even running it in real-time  but sevice is still there.Hoping I might save someone all the aggro I've had with installing and running OpenVPN.

kadrex
I'm using CyberGhost but I do not know how to use OpenVPN on Windows :(If its not a free account, you should be able to use openvpn instead of their software. You'd log onto your account on their website, go to "Smart Phones, Tablets & other Devices", select Other Devices, then choose openvpn + country, os, etc. You can do multiple for diff servers for same device. Should generate the required .ovpn files. You would drop those into config subdirectory of the OpenVPN installation folder.Less secure. To simplify login...https://my.hostvpn.com/knowledgebase/22/Save-Password-in-OpenVPN-for-Automatic-Login.html

majormalfunction
I had been puzzling over why I couldn't get the latest couple of vyprvpn updates to finish the install process on a windows 7 laptop. It installs / updates openvpn as part of it's routine. Uninstalled malwarebytes, then rebooted. Vyprvpn installed successfully. :D Thumbs-up! avmad
I used OpenVPN because I couldn't get the VPN Client to work. I'll try it again now Mbam is removed. The clients provided by your choice of vpn is usually better. They have dns leak protection, kill switch etc (If you have a good one)No need to start using Open GUI unless you have problems. I don't think you gain much.
