Bausch
Hello everyone,I was wondering about the risks if one opts for using nulled php software on a forum, is it really safe, or there are known cases of backdoors and other risks involved?I am not sure about what is being said that the teams who do the nulling may insert code of their own that would compromise the security of the forum, such could be scare tactics to discourage many from using a nulled board. Also, are there trusted sources for such releases, or if one group is better than another in any way?Thank you. Kalju
You can make your own nulled version. Nulled means that the feedback links are changed so that your page does not give feedback to the manufacturer, and that's all. So manufacturer simply cannot detect, have you paid customer or not.The best makers, however, have a license and the exchange of information goes over the single license. Of course, this is not fair, but you do not have to use full original version. Just make Your own which based on it, simply add own corrections. Of course, you have to be able to update only it manually, but there isn't nothing an impossible and also any "backdoor" doesn't exist. But you can just as well be used as MyBB or phpBB 3.xx - they are completely free and are not at all bad. But, of course, must a little to know something, to get beautiful and functional website, forum, whatever.More than 10 years of experience in making all kinds of websites. SnakeMasteR
There are so many (and that's no joke) really good Open Source softwares for forums, why would someone need to use nulled ones? Maybe the licensing costs, that would be the only reason but if you really can't afford a license, you should go for Open Source. You won't find any holes, until you get hacked or your hoster gets a piracy notice (and most hosters are pretty fast removing you from their servers and accounting when the Legal Team knocks on the front door). Bausch
Thanks for your replies. There is a tutorial on nulling here yes, waiting for the next installment, it will be a good exercise to try doing it myself and see if it will work. :)But not all boards are available for download. As for free boards, some may argue that they lack speed, some functionality or even security in some cases, if I recall correctly, phpBB had/has some security issues, so they are not really that good.I am not pushing for nulled boards or bashing free boards, or anything at all, I just wanted to discuss the security of nulled boards, do you believe the saying that they are riddled with backdoors and that they are easily hackable, or is it like when they say a keygen IS a virus to scare people away from using it. Kalju
You do not need to protect your site for anything other, than for the spammers and spam. There You have to use some API key or something similar. If any Hakker wants to do something, it will not be yours website, but the server. And there you can not nothing do, if by chance you are not the owner of the server.
