Webroot SecureAnywhere is the lightest AV period.

As you are probably aware there are plenty of pay for AV Microsoft server solutions available. All of the major players offerings will do the job, so its down to personal preference & the role the server is going to play to what best suits it needs...

If you are considering implementing a File Server with MS 2003 / 2008R2 & trying to achieve a decent freeware solution, take a look @ Immunet owned by Sourcefire / Cisco. Offering very good cloud based detection + CLAMAV resident engine http://www.immunet.com/free/features/index.html

Although not shown on the website, their forums will confirm that it has been compatible with MS servers for quite a few years now. I too have had it running on a couple of my internal MS file servers without a problem. Just download a collection of the EICAR test files samples on a workstation with the AV turned off, copy them over to the file server running Immunet & they will be instantly auto quarantined...

Malwarebytes can also be used as an additional tool when performing a security audit / system check...

@mike.mt:

Do you have Immunet Plus version?

I cant assist here buddy as I do not require email scanning protection on the file servers, only on access / tampering protection for the system & data file partitions.

Coupled with regular MalwareBytes on demand scans on the system drives I have found that this combo works well along side our OpenDNS + firewall + endpoint network security measures.
