funkyy
Hello dcs18 and unknownasphyxiated, I told you I'm a total (almost) noob...at least I admit it lol. No point in trying to pretend I'm better than I am. I once installed Windows 7, but a week or two later I went back to XP. I have various recent versions of XP on CD's so I know I could just reformat and install one of them...I just don't want to go through all the time re-installing my progs etc.I think my current XP can pass the Windows automatic updates..but since I'm not 100% sure I don't want to risk using that method. But I'll take your advice on board and if I can't find out how to integrate the updates that auto update patcher has downloaded, I'll just delete them. Meanwhile I'll end up being the only person in the world using XP!!! LOL :D :D :D
dcs18
@ funkyyI think I saw a recent upload, here - the one that unknownasphyxiated mentions in his post. :)
funkyy
@ funkyyI think I saw a recent upload, here - the one that unknownasphyxiated mentions in his post. :)Yes, thanks...it's Maherz version, I've just downloaded it and I'm gonna burn it to a CD. I'll keep it just in case I need to reinstall my existing XP. I know what you're all thinking.."It's guys like this that made human evolution so slooooow!!! lol :showoff: :showoff: :showoff: But like I said in another post, I'm a creature of habit.

funkyy
@unknownasphyxiated, thanks for the links..I've now downloaded nlite and read the brief details...very interesting. But really I don't want to cause any problems with my current installation...I just want to know if I can easily integrate the files that auto update patcher downloaded, or can I just delete them as if they were never downloaded? I try never to tamper too much with my system as you can guess.
funkyy
Impatient little bugger that I am..I just erased the downloaded stuff in auto update patcher's folder!! I'll probably install Maherz final XP one of these days..or maybe I'll convince myself to install Windows 7. Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.
