Windows Phone 8.1 Keyboard Is the Fastest in the World, Takes Guinness Record

Microsoft's engineers can be proud of their achievement regarding the software keyboard that comes with the new Windows Phone 8.1.

Dubbed Word Flow, the keyboard has been recently confirmed as the fastest in its category and is now listed in the World's Guinness Book.

Gaurav Sharma is now the record holder for “Guiness World Records fastest text message using a touchscreen mobile phone.” He managed to type a pretty long text in just 18.44 seconds using the Word Flow keyboard on Windows Phone 8.1

Thanks to its swype-like gestures, Word Flow offers users something more than any other software keyboard available on the market.

The speed with which Gaurav Sharma managed to the set the new record is simply amazing and that is only possible due to the new “gesture” technology that are now part of any respectable software keyboard.

The previous Guinness World Record was owned by Samsung Galaxy S4 with its dedicated software keyboard, but the Windows Phone 8.1's Word Flow managed to dethrone it.

Windows Phone 8.1 is set for release this summer, as an update for the current Windows Phone 8 handsets. New smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8.1 will go on sale beginning May, 2014.

The record is utterly meaningless.

Touch-screen keyboards suck for those of us who can easily touch-type 50 words a minute on a physical keyboard. If you want the best QWERTY keyboard on a smartphone, get a Motorola Droid 4.
