nsane
Webroot Spy Sweeper is the most effective standalone tool for detecting, removing, and blocking spyware. Spy Sweeper's Active Shields feature aims to protect you while you're surfing and warns you when your system loads spyware into memory, when your browser home page is changed, or (if you desire) when a site places tracking cookies on your system. The memory scanner detected most spyware as the apps were attempting to install.Download
Guest Greg214
ok I think I understand what's going on here. I was able to directly download the masters.mst file as instructed in the word document, and I replaced it as instructed in the word document. my current spyware defs are v574 and it protects me against 114,403 threats in lieu of 110,000 so this is a direct download of the definitions I am assuming, but my question is how do you know the next number ? In other words this master was 420 so would the next one be 421 ??am I in the ballpark about what the master file is ?? lol
nsane
i think you mis-understood me, your suppost to put the currently installed masters version in the URL. it'll download the latest sigs no matter what version number is present :o
SacredCultivator
Ok.. I am sort of lost on how to do this.. need a Tutorial >< Ok is it best if I do a fresh reinstlalation of SpySweeper.. Also that Master.mst, do I replace that with the Master.base?

SacredCultivator
Wait.. Am I supposed to apply the Fix or no? I just reinstalled SpySweeper and applied that Masters file int he masters folder.. But I get it as Expired...
nsane
the master.mst file IS your signature database. so your just manually updating it, instead of using the internal updater. and, no, you don't need the fix to use it :o
Guest Greg214
it will stay expired but ur definitions will be up to date once u replace the master file. ur definition files should be v574 once u replace the master file. u don't need the fix cuz ur not fixing anything ur jus updating ur definition files manually in lieu of an auto update. do u understand now ?haha u beat me to the punch nsane lol :o
SacredCultivator
OOOOOOOOOOo Lol thanks for clearing that up... Thanks a lot, so does it 'automatically' update when new Definitions are released?
eBait
I think its blocked.... Since it WORKED when i picked it out of fallout bunker (week ago) and it DOESNT work now :o (tried both ff and ie)
nsane
it's working fine here, are you sure you followed every step in the new guide exactly? :o
saf
Why this fix say definitions cannot be updated because subscription has expired.Pls do something about it .Tq :o
nsane
IT'S NOT A FIX, your manually updating your signatures file (ie. you have to do everything in the guide EVERYTIME you wanna update). ya might aswell block net acces to spysweeper with your firewall or something :ohopefully, someone will code me an actual updater, cause i honestly dont have the required knowledge (nor the time for that matter) :o
Guest Greg214
so does it 'automatically' update when new Definitions are released?nope u gotta do it urself by using the link provided in that word document. so basically u have to speculate that they update the definitions every other day or so maybe every 3 days i dunno for sure.I think its blocked.... Since it WORKED when i picked it out of fallout bunker (week ago) and it DOESNT work now (tried both ff and ie)I tried again and I get an error as well saying IE unable to open this site. Guest Greg214
and now it have the version number 535.uhh my definitions version is 574 , and protects againt 114,403 threats.but now I am at a loss as to how I can continue to update if the link is no longer valid.
nsane
@dodo - you only need to change the language, not the country location, example...&lang=de&loc=USA&lang=cn&loc=USA&lang=jp&loc=USA@Greg214 - it should work forever, i mean, think about it for a sec. if they change the link, anyone that tries to use the 4.x trials won't be able to update. so they literally CAN'T change the URL :o
Undefeated
Thanks Nsane works like a charm. Got the lastest version 575. :o
Unbekannt
This manual update method is good. Looks like when I update my ewido definitions. Well, I´m still dreaming with an universal patch for SpySweeper trial. Something like the Natabec Patch for SpySweeper 3.5.198This patch was fantastic. Made to beat the SpySweeper´s trial period, I used it for a long time until the SpySweeper 4.x series. Unfortunately no patch (like this one) has been made for the 4.x versions. Maybe one day...Unbekannt personal choice- Counterspy- SpySweeper- Pest Patrol- Tren Micro AS- Spyware Doctor- Ad-Aware SE Pro- Ewido- Spyware Blaster- Hijack This! nsane
Should I use this link until a new working fix will be ready?well, if someone were to make an updater using the new method we wouldn't need to fix spysweeper any more. we'd just need to run the updater every day or so :o
