bruinator
I am trying to install graphics drivers on my desktop. The only way I can install the drivers is to unplug my hdmi cable from my tv. I tried that and then hooking up the cable to the tv but when i do that i lose all the icons and my mouse pointer. The only way i get the icons back is to unplug HDMI cable from the tv. How can I fix this?thx
uffbros
Just had same problem recently. I wanted to watch movies from my computer. Once I plugged in the HDMI I lost control of the computer and the mouse was froze on the TV. Fix is unplug the HDMI from TV..you will then regain control of computer...click to restart computer...now hurry up and plug the HDMI back into TV...Mouse will now work on TV. unknownasphyxiated
are you using ati radeon?usually i found this problem when using pc with ati cardi haven't found problem with new amd cardyou need to set to duplicate/only use the tv as the main screen or follow uffbros's instructionthe default setting would be extend to the 2nd attached monitor, if i'm not mistaken
bruinator
nope, I am using sapphire radeon hd5450 card. There normally would be an duplicate option but since i cant get drivers installed i do not see this extended option. I had this card working fine on windows 8 but it will not work on 8.1. I used the CD with the drivers on it and it wont work. Someone recommended I use drivers from AMD but I am getting the problem like i first posted. They are from 12/18/2013. There is a beta one put out 10 days ago, should i try that?thx Edited March 28, 2014 by bruinator
