funkyy
Am I in the correct place to ask for help? I uninstalled my working version of Elaborate Bytes CloneDVD2 (2.9.3.0).to install the beta version (2.9.3.1.). I got an error message "program failed to initialize". I tried uninstalling/reinstalling various times, including rebooting my computer in between. Finally I tried to go back to my previous version (2.9.3.0.), but I still get the error message and it won't start. Scanned with antivirus and malware bytes, all clear. Tried clean installs various times, and googled to try and find a solution. The only thing I have done recently was yesterday when I tried to run Popcorn-Time..which didn't work at all by the way, so I deleted it. I am using Windows XP SP3. I really rely on my Clone DVD a lot. Any help would be gratefully received.
funkyy
I've been working on the problem now for a good few hours and I'm beginning to suspect that Slysoft/Elby somehow blacklisted my serial number while I had uninstalled v2.9.3.0. I tried changing DEP to allow CloneDVD, I uninstalled and reinstalled in safe mode, I unininstalled-rebooted-installed-rebooted, but still the same message "the application failed to initialize properly". My system restore doesn't work..that wwas the first solution I thought of. Can't find any answers using Google. Aaaargh!!!!

funkyy
First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to read and answer my problem nanoman. I have been searching for solutions these last few days and I've tried the uninstall-reinstall with reboots. As I'm a "noob" I'm not sure what your question means. Are you asking what installer I have used? CloneDVD2 v2930 and v 2931 beta from Nsane, plus I tried with a previous version v2922 and even with an old backup copy of my original installation v2390. Probably that's not what you are referring to. Remember I'm in no way an expert in computation. Thanks again, any advice (except "kill yourself") would be great.
funkyy
Sorry, and I am using the CORE keygen, and I tried one by DSF. Neither of them worked.

funkyy
Wow!!! I was just about to go to bed (1:24 a.m. now) and I came back to the thread for one last check and I found your latest post. I'm gonna have a read through it carefully and follow the instructions. I'll get back to you tomorrow with the results. funkyy
Hello again nanoman. I followed your instructions step by step (I even uninstalled Slysoft AnyDVD v7440 just in case) but I get the same message "The application failed to initialize properly 0xc0000005". I followed your instructions twice, rebooting when you said, but each time I got the same result. In my first attempt I used the CORE reg activation, and in my second attempt I used the Eclipse reg activation. But I want to thank you for the time you spent on my problem, and for the rar file with setups/reg cleaning files/activation reg etc. It is not often on the internet that a person asking for assistance receives such a full answer...some people reply with abuse and insults. So I want to thank you once again for all your work and I hereby nominate you for the Nsane medal for service over and above the call of duty!!! :showoff: :showoff: :showoff:
fred4
Are you using a cracked version of AnyDVD using the latest BRD patch? If you are then I think that this is causing your problem. If yes then see AnyDVD thread for more info.

If yes then see AnyDVD thread for more info. Thanks fred4, as a matter of fact yes I am!!!...I'm going over to the AnyDVD thread now as you have advised. Now you mention it, I had installed AnyDVD 7.4.4.0. the day before this problem with CloneDVD2 appeared.
funkyy
Nanoman and fred4...I read through the AnyDVD thread and noted the problems that the BRD patch was causing. So I uninstalled Anydvd and CloneDVD, cleaned out any remnants and rebooted. I then installed CloneDVD 2930 by itself, following your instructions above nanoman (remembering to disconnect from internet), but I still get the "application failed to initialize" message.I uninstalled/rebooted etc and tried again using v2922...same result.I uninstalled/rebooted etc and tried again using v2931 Beta...same result. To say I'm feeling dizzy now is an understatement. I have been using CloneDVD for many years now and never had any problem installing it..even in other family members' computers...but this has me stumped. Can't think of anything I've missed or done wrong.
fred4
If you've still got a patched version of ElbyCDIO.dll in Windows/System32 then CloneDVD won't work even if AnyDVD isn't installed. You need to uninstall both progs and if ElbyCDIO.dll is still in Windows/System32 you need to delete it. Can't remember if this a hidden file and can't check at the moment cos I'm using an android tablet.

Can't remember if this a hidden file and can't check at the moment cos I'm using an android tablet.I thought about that fred4, and I deleted the ElbyCDIOdll after uninstalling the CloneDVD versions that failed to initialize and so, before starting the install process again. I'm just gonna have one final attempt now (for luck)...I've been working on this for hours now and I can't believe that it has caused all this effort without bearing fruit. Will let you know what happens.
funkyy
I went through the whole process again with a newly downloaded CloneDVD 2930, but same message. Looks like I'll just have to use DVDFab, which I don't really like, and hopefully when a new version and crack appear I'll be able to install that. I don't really want to reformat just for the sake of one program. I thank you guys once again for your input and efforts to solve this problem.
fred4
I had all these problems. Trouble is caused by the patch. It alters ElbyCDIO.dll to make AnyDVD work but in the process it stops all other Slysoft progs from working.I had to uninstall both AnyDVD and CloneDVD and delete the patched dll. When you reinstall either AnyDVD or CloneDVD it puts a new clean version of the dll in Windows/System32. It's at this point that you need to make a copy of the dll and paste it into your CloneDVD install folder. Only after you've done this apply the BRD patch. This way AnyDVD is using the patched dll in Windows/System32 and CloneDVD is using a copy of the clean dll in it's own install folder. Hope this makes sense. Will let you know later. Thanks again.
funkyy
1) I did a clean install of CloneDVD29302) I copied the ElbyCDIOdll and Put it in CloneDVD's folder in program files.3) Then I double-clicked the activation reg file that nanoman kindly sent me4) I installed AnyDVD7420 and double-clicked the reg file that was its crack method.5) I rebooted6) Now when I click on CloneDVD's icon I get the message "your period of evaluation has expired. At least something different has happened!!!!
funkyy
Nanoman, fred4...got it!!!! Read my last post above so you know what stage I had reached.O.k. now I thought about uninstalling/installing etc etc again. But first I decided to try the CORE keygen one more time. So, without rebooting or cleaning out any reg details, I double-clicked the keygen. Then, without rebooting or doing anything else, I double-clicked the CloneDVD icon..and it worked, the program opened. I've opened/closed it several times and it's fine. So, to recap I have CloneDVD2930 and AnyDVD7420. It's not so important for me to have the latest AnyDVD because I don't copy original discs, I just have it to make sure the region is set for my location for anything that I copy.Well, I sincerely thank you two great guys for all your help and time. I hope the moderators take note of how you have assisted me. This is an example of the true spirit of the internet.I also hope that anyone else who is having similar problems can read the last parts of this thread to understand what caused it to change from "your period of evaluation has expired" to functioning.Jeezo, that was a saga...I'm so happy to have this program working again...thanks to you both. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

funkyy
Glad to be of assistance. Just hope now that BRD come up with a new patch that doesn't break everything.I hope so too fred4. As I said I've never encountered any problem in all the years that I've been using CloneDVD and AnyDVD with any of the cracks/patches that were available. I am a creature of habit (lol) and I tend to stick with programs that I am comfortable with, so losing CloneDVD was a mini disaster for me!!! lol. Thanks to nanoman and you I'm now a "happy chappy" again. :D :D :D
fred4
If you need a later version of AnyDVD, you can always install the latest final version 7.4.4.0 and when the 21 day trial runs out, just reset it with John Who's trial resetter. From memory I think it's called Anytrial v 0.
