insanedown58
So I've never been in a sports clinic but do intend to join one if ever it does suit me. What is it exactly? Google never really gave me the idea of what it is. It just said that its "a meeting at which basketball players receive special evaluation and instruction". Is it a place where beginners go in to train or fairly knowledgeable guys go to enhance their skills? The TV ads never help either.
AlexCross
Sport clinic? like a hospital or what? It sounds like a big scam, like people promiss you something that is abstract for a price, like religion, and you get nothing. Skills in sport came with years and years of practice, and natural fitness. A clinic won't help you. dMog
alex cross it is plainly evident that you know nothing about sports clinics... when kids show promise in sports they go to clinics...why...because their coached know that by sending them to get better training they become better players...yes natural ability helps but if the person holding that natural ability is never trained as how to use it and find ways to improve their natural ability they never get better... better coaching and being trained to train properly eat properly and think properly does help. I coached soccer to young kids and had the chance to attend several coaching clinics...it helped a great deal...as for your religion comment ...we will not open that can of worms...edit...several of the kids i coached took clinics too...a few of them played the game well enough to play on university teams when they went to college...they help out at at soccer clinics to this day because they see the value of what this does for kids Edited March 6, 2014 by dMog
insanedown58
So.. are they for flat out beginners or people that had some experience...or both? I'd love to, but I don't want to be humiliated throughout the entire thing so I'd like to make sure
dMog
they are for all levels of players..i would contact the people offering the clinic and ask them..... tell them what level of player you are and they will place you in the proper place.... and by the way alex... almost every single pro player attended clinics for their sport when they were kids... especially if they were goalies for soccer or hockey.... insanedown58
I now see how the term "basketball clinic" differ by place. Well for my country, a basketball clinic is a place where people from age 5 and above are trained and taught the fundamentals of basketball. Those who have done the sessions may re-enroll for "advanced" or "intermediate" sessions. That's the description I read.
