software182
Does anyone know about rollback rx alternative ? I mean, the software should appear before I'm entering windows ( just like rollback's snapshot system )Ax64 is good but I can't use it when I failed entering my windows. As far as I know, there's no fix for new rollback rx. So I need the new one like rollback :pPS : - I'm using win 8.1 pro x64.

maia
I don´t like software as RRX and similar: they are too invasive on the operating system.... I've always used Acronis true imge home : 100% reliable and increasingly fast.

When you can't boot into Windows environment, you can make use of recovery CD/USB to restore the backup image, but restore will be slow...Also AX64TM provides an option to add itself to boot menu..you can choose to boot into AX64TM Recovery Environment or boot into Windows 8.
Myna
AX64 Time Machine allows you to create bootable media. You can boot your PC with it, if booting into windows fails.

AlexCross
The problem with AX64 is that you need space, usb, dvds and so on, so Rollback Rx give you the ability to use it without burning it to a DVD or USB.Btw, how much space eats ~ the recovery media in AX64? mike.mt
I had the experience of testing Keriver Pro recently & can safely say that it "don't float my boat"..... :s :sApart from a primitive windows gui, it took 12 minutes to do an initial back up of a Win7 X64 OS partition whereas AXTM does it in 3 mins on the same box...Coupled with the hideous looking Grub boot loader that it through in.....I first thought that I was about to play an old arcade game of Asteroids when I rebooted to test restore..One of the fastest evaluations I have done...Imaged back to AXTM instantly & will not be touching it again...With that out of the way.... All the major system imaging / backup players are good, some have more pluses than others.. depending on ones needs.
212eta
-Faronics Deep Freeze, Returnil etc. cannot take/restore SnapShots.-AX64 is too slow compared with Rollback Rx.-Farstone RestoreIT and Keriver 1-Click Restore create, by far, much bigger Snapshots.Needless to mention, they often fail to properly restore SnapShots. Also, they are much slower than Rollback Rx when it comes to taking/restoring SnapShots. 212eta
Reliability is much more important than speed for me.I've never had a problem with the reliability of Rollback Rx.Maybe, because, I've never used:- untrustworthy Registry Cleaners,- untrustworthy Junk-File Cleaners,- Defrag Tools other than the one of Rollback Rx,- other Apps that corrupt the MFTetc.
