avmad
I had the same thing a couple of months ago, and was told by forum members they know it's not a paid for license.I found it unuseable like that after trying many things for about a week. Thought I'd done it and then it would switch right before my eyes.I had it all blocked by firewall etc but it kept doing it.I actually prefer Xplorer2 after all that. It's much lighter than DO and does all I want in a file manager. Plus no problems activating it.
Dondee
I have been using Directory Opus for years and have learned that the latest and greatest version is usually the most trouble to keep activated. The developers protect their product and I can't fault them for that. Back up and use an older version--10.5.2.1.b4934 has a working certificate. Uninstall your existing version and look for a DirOpus registry cleaner bat file to get rid of all the old installation. You will have to block your firewall during installation and all Dopus related files after installation. Some earlier versions and certificates will also work. Read through the posts and you will see that others have had the same problem: This is not a program that you can just download, install and use without a little background reading. sefton22
I believe this happens when using either a blacklisted serial or a cracked version of DOpus and the problem is hidden somewhere in the registry.you could try installing a valid 60day trial key from http://www.gpsoft.com.au/ use the Trial Reset provided by TheDeadSoup, which has kept my version ticking over for quite some time now with no fear of the 8.3 filenames occuring when DOpus silently phones homeIf the problem persists your either going to have to buy a license, use an alternative file manager or format your system as current registry cleaners don't find all the entries needed for a clean installation. Scorpius
Wow this has been asked so many times. I've made a post a few days ago to remove the blacklist completely:http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/208035-everything-went-wrong-with-directory-opus-today-is-there-a-fix/?p=747132Also includes the invalid proxy method which works pretty well to stop Directory Opus from calling home.
