clubhouse
The community guidelines clearly say, "posts, PM's or via the shoutbox) should be free from flaming, baiting, spam, profanities and illegal / obscene material, and as a result should be positive, polite and constructive. Yet the users on here ask and answer illegal ways of pirating, hacking and the moderators or the admin seem to take no action. What's legal and what's illegal is difficult to answer and also it's difficult to say what is pirating and hacking by definition, you better ask a lawyer in the country you live in like everyone else who questions a community like nsane. Not sure if nsane needs a debate like this because everywhere is the same debate and depending on individual laws in various regions of the world, illegal isn't defined everywhere in the same way and as such there is no copyright and no monopoly around it everywhere, you can't expect people to see things as illegal if they aren't defined by laws, even forbidden, thousands of different answers, thousands of different laws around the globe regarding copyright and also possibilities to ship around existing paragraphs and squishy definitions in them and there is no answer for what is illegal and what not, that depends on the country and it's laws you live in and what you do with the content from anywhere in the net. I think the quoted text above could live without the word "illegal" but i think it mainly is meant as a disclaimer (not sure). And after seeing theft in this topic, copying/sharing software for example isn't theft, it's reproduction if anything, theft is if someone steals your Br(e)ightling that has been limited to a number of 100 and it isn't there anymore and a visible loss for the real owner, theft is a sentence from lobbyists and copyright monopolys. What nsane exactly is, is explained below:nsane.down: an insanely fast software updates and software & P2P news site which provides software, as it should be; verified and up-to-date.And everyone has a own definition of nsane, depending on how or why he or she uses the site or not.You can get softwares of any kind and shared content for review, you can read news of any kind, you can ask questions of any kind in compliance with the community guidelines, you can simply chit chat or ShoutBox or use the site as time-waster, there are so many different reasons why people visit the site, not only or mainly because of software.I understand what you're saying but, if you read the EULA in most software's it would indicate that using any other method of making the software either full or able to operate beyond the trial or any other limitations without the agreed terms of purchase is illegal.I should add I do use pirated software but I don't kid myself that I'm not involving myself in THEFT of income to the software developer :) Edited February 24, 2014 by clubhouse
SnakeMasteR
Like i said, it depends on the laws in the country you live in, it could be hard to prove at the end that you have seen any EULA in a portable program which doesn't need installation, that is one thing i meant with "possibilities to ship around existing paragraphs and squishy definitions", no one will sue you for a EULA which was impossible for you to see that way and there are bunch of other possibilities to ship around laws.Piracy is not theft. If you steal a car, the original is lost. If you copy a game, there are simply more of them in the world.Marcus Persson ~ Minecraft millionaire This is one of my favourites. :DAlso there is a huge difference between piracy and filesharing but i think it would take too long to go into detail about it, what really is theft in my POV and a lost sale is every copy that will be selled that has a "pirated copy" as base.I don't know if someone who has a small budget should feel like a thief when he has a AutoCAD copy for non-commercial use on his computer that weights $9000 or Core Impact Pro for $50000. clubhouse
@ n0_risk!....The quote button doesn't seem to be working for me atm..But you finished with "What do you think?" I think we all have different views and opinions on these topics, I respect what you're saying because its said with thought and in a mature fashion....I just don't entirely agree with the principals as you see them...Still it was interesting to see a different perspective....As with everything like this there are no rights and wrongs, just personal opinions :)

That's for sure and it's the biggest problem and maybe the worst enemy, that is why the bottom line always should be - if you like it, use it and can afford it, buy it (what i also do on a regular basis and everyone should do) but at the same time sharing information is what nsane is about and for the art of it, it's not the peoples fault that for mostly anything is a counterpart in form of a monopoly, where we - as people - still can have own opinions and decisions and maybe that also is a reason why sites like nsane exist, nevertheless. GRiM
I clarify my question again, this is no complain. There is a difference in the way this forum is used compared to what the community guidelines say. That's why I asked if the posts made here are within forum rules. The admins should make it clear what this forum is about. If this is even a question in your mind you simply do not belong here. Especially after the OP which I wound quite frankly a ridiculous question that was designed to simply bait people.Go away and play somewhere else. LeetPirate
Why must there always be someone whining and crying about anything and everything? It works... cry, it don't work, cry more. You can give blood and some will not be satisfied, they will cry because it's too red. The front page has a different domain name and in the real world we call that a different website, the link between front page and forum is logical and possibly hosted in different countries to best serve our community. I will not say any more details about that. Some of you don't know how good you have it here, seriously, as compared to some other forums out there. As an example I got banned from another forum for politely asking someone to go to school and learn English because his insults made no sense. Mind you, I was the victim but I got banned, lol. I won't bother posting the name of that forum because I don't want to advertise a useless and stupid forum over here. Imagine getting banned for encouraging literacy. hahahaha. It's illegal for this topic to be in Software Chat, so it will be moved to The Chat Bar. ;)

LeetPirate
This thread really needs to be locked and deleted.Possibly, but that will lead to the creation of a new thread to cry and whine about this thread being locked followed by accusations of being a totalitarian regime. lol

clubhouse
What's the telephone number for the whambulance  !?Harold Macmillan's 'never had it so good' speech followed the 1950s boom Harold Macmillan’s famous declaration that “most of our people have never had it so good” came in July 1957 at a time when the country was riding high on the post-war economic boom. Alanon
This thread really needs to be locked and deleted.Exactly.And for some reason we are still here, discussing. I don't think that anyone who wonders about things should be ousted as "not belonging". I like to believe it was a valid question, for which valid answers were given.Time to move on... clubhouse
Spamming, spamming you say, is there not a 'thank you' button for saying thanks to posts, I call people who log on and thank post after bloody post spammers, simply trying to get their post count up....Mobilism have got the right idea and tell people to use the thank button and not bloat threads by adding a freaking post to say thanks! jackieo
it's really quite clear from just the front page what this site is about and what the content is. somebody doesn't have to register on the forums to discover what this site is all about and then raise questions about the content therein. anyone that has reservations about such are free to take a hike. my personal opinion about such users is that they are either actually extremely naive or trolls passing by :DUnderstood. Thanks. This was way back at post #21 why are we still here? this thread is done. discussion over. just sayin.
