Maybe you disabled some Windows services or used some program that disabled them?

Start > Right-click 'My computer' > (Computer) Manage(ment)(something like that) > Services and applications > Services, you can check which services are disabled there, you can right-click and press start for any service and check if it works then, however they will still be disabled at next boot, to enable them by default you need to right-click, properties and set it to 'Automatic'.
