SlimRock
IMO you should use Ashampoo HDD Control 2 to check the Health/Performance status of your hard drive.

Chancer
Backup as soon as you can, buy a new HDD. They say the average life of a HDD is only a couple of years!

AlexCross
That's just an estimation, it means that your HDD manufacter guarantees optimal functionality until then, it doesn't mean that your HDD will die. Be aware that if you have RollBack RX, it might be its fault, try to uninstall it, then check for errors, and then check your HDD again. I do understand that it's just an estimation..but any how it's not going to last long... :(I've uninstalled Rollback..then did a complete defrag and then tested the HDD..
Kalju
But have you tried these sectors to improve someway? It's quite normal on HDD case, that among some sectors will be damaged. There is nothing new or strange. Usually, you can fix them and everything is fine.Of course we must regularly monitor that does not arise bad sectors. It happens very rarely that cannot be repaired. avmad
I don't think any software can change end to end errors. It's mechanical fault with the HDD.I had the same problem and bought a new drive quick smart ;)I was told to keep checking SMART to see if it changed values (got worse) but it didn't, I didn't want to risk it though as HDD are fairly cheap to replace.I really couldn't find much definite information when I searched for the problem before. No one here was very knowledgeable either :lol:I think it comes down to will you risk possibly loseing your data or clone it to another drive.Sorry that's not much help

WRonce
Can you show the SMART info. It should show where the problem lies. Here is the info..your log is confused :(mainly it say that you have a "relocation" problem than mean that you have to many bad sectors, now we have to figure out why?It says remaining life = 130 days.. :( :( :(this is nonsence!!! AlexCross
As I said, there's no reason to get worried, your HDD isn't dying yet, it still has few years to go. Bad sectors will be moved to the end so you won't save anything there. I have a 9 years HDD and it still runs now.
