Maybe worth giving this hotfix a go :-

A computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 may crash when you use some IEEE 1394 devices. Additionally, you may receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:
STOP 0x0000003B (Parameter1, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4)
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Details :-

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980932

I got "Update not applicable to your computer"

Did you get the correct update for your OS, i.e 32bit x64 ?, if yes then :(

After further inspection, I noticed that the message changed for every BSOD. I'm coming to the conclusion that my installer was corrupted as it did BSOD during the installation.

I can't believe for the love of me that I would say this but Windows Vista worked better for me than Windows 7 :wtf:

Okay my conclusion was wrong. It was a thermal problem. After I have reseated everything, I noticed that they were a lot hotter than I expected. Apparently the rear fan which I did not know was that crucial was no longer running due to a faulty cord. I reattached it and boom bluescreens are gone
