Recommended Posts

3)Open ESET ---> advance view ---------> setup -----------> enter entire advance setup tree -----------> uncheck Enable Self-Defense.

4)Reboot.

5)Open box, mara- fix v1.3 and click Enable Self-Defense (you will need to reboot). Fix it.

6)It will automatically reboot.

I followed step 3 and 4, could you be more specific about point 5? (Open box, mara- fix v1.3 and click Enable Self-Defense )

Can you see the "Enable Self-Defense after usin the fix"? Check it to yes.

Now can you see "fix it" button on the down right side of box, mara- fix.

Click it. And you computer will restart automatically.

And done.

I now see two options;

Enable Self-defense etc.

and remove trial (water) marks in Eset..

I clicked Enable now it asks Do you really want to apply the fix? yes or no?

I prefer watermark to stay there. It's your decision, doesn't harm anythin.

And select yes when "Do you really want to apply the fix?"

Note: After doin so, your computer will reboot. Don't try to kill the rebootin process. Just let it do it's job.

After reboot you are done. ;)

I chose Enable Self-Defense  It did reboot. When I open Nod it says; Remaining trial period: 31 days....... Am I finally at the point it should be working after keeping all of you busy all day long?

Well I had similar problem when usin v1.3 for first time. I mean I don't remember a virus bein detected but instead there was some sort of problem in svchost file that I don't think that it ever exists in TEMP folder. But it didn't cause any problem to my system and I fixed it without any problems and no problem till date. And I forgot about the problem in the history of time.

But I will still myself need an answer for this svchost problem from mara-.

Well I myself didn't find it in TEMP folder and I know when it is found somewhere else it's malware. But what about the svchost.exe acting differently. Well now I remember, I got an svchost.exe error when I used V1.3 for the first time.

Yes guys, there is svchost.exe in fix. I just named it like that to mask it in Task Manager. It's not a virus, it's just protection from terminating the fix via Task Manager during countdown to reboot. So, if you terminate fix, svchost.exe will just reboot your computer.

Cheers ;)
