question about nodenabler that may be hidden somewhere in all this stuff:

when it tries to insert a license, it can't bypass the password-protection of the program. if i disable the password, then it inserts fine and i can re-set the pw. is there any way to fix this? also, do any of the other fixes work to bypass the pw insertion? like some option in the fix to input your password so it could automatically update. let me know.

I know that Minodlogin does this, don't know about the rest though.

I've never felt it necessary to password protect Eset's settings.

I think the point is that some virus can auto-disable the software. if pw-protected, it would have a harder time accomplishing this.

it seems that nodlogin 9.9c & 10a don't create startup entries, at least not on windows 7???

what was the cmdline to run nodlogin hidden? nodlogin.exe /o ? seems i'll need to add the entry myself but i want someone else to confirm it doesn't add startup entries anymore, altho it used to..

ok, thx.. so seems it isn't able to create it under windows 7.. since i moved to windows 7 from server 2008 i haven't seen the entry being created.. and i don't like clicking a shortcut from time to time to keep it up to date..

i was debating with myself whether it was windows 7 or simply the newer versions of nodlogin.. tbh i think i installed 9.9c on someone's lappy running xp and it wasn't created either... maybe.

the 10a installer doesn't even have the hidden/proxy etc options anymore..

If a virus could slip by Eset and change Eset's settings, that would mean Eset wouldn't be able to detect it anyway, so password protecting the settings wouldn't protect one's computer from such a virus anyway. At least that is the way I see it. Hence I don't bother with pw protecting the settings.

Did you look at Schedules Tasks? Some programs put their start-up entries there.

AV 4.0.437 x32 in Dutch.

Just found the trial, same problem as with the 424 version.

I don't really mind English as well, but there are lot's of people who want it in Dutch and (like me) are used to NodLogin...

Nope.

Just found out (see couple of lines above) that the Dutch 437 isn't supported by NodLogin too. Same as with 424.

Think the same as with the 424 version will happen: English version works with NodLogin.

Could try though, but I'll have to wait till my virtual pc is back up and running.

(Testing my modified XP installation disc, after making modifications, right now, again :P)

edit: MiNODLogin 3.5.8.9 works. So got an alternative, for now.

and also, i'd like to know ur opinion on nodenabler.. i've been a user of nodlogin for a long time and been favoring it because it's script is lightweight..

does nodenabler run in the background all the time? or can it be set to run just on startup & hidden without slowing down?

About NodAbler, just tested and what I can say is , it has bugs and i think is a program to forget. I think it will never work correctly. Maybe I am wrong but it`s my feeling .

It should insert licenses provided by some known sites.But it`s almost all manual.

NodEnabler has many figures.You can use it the way you like hidden or not. I can`t explain here everything. It`s important to try and then choose which of theses fixes is better for you.

I like all ( NodLogin,MiNodLogin and NodEnabler). But as @Bizarre says : Each to his own , or something like that.

They all work. Is up to you to choose.

PS : NodEnabler is being developed still with more figures, so I think is better to wait for the new release, even if the way it is now is more than enough for me. Just hope the Author do not complicate too much. Sometimes bugs may appear and right now, the way it`s done, is OK.

(Mine is WinXP Pro SP3 32bits).
