XP is fine. Problem inside W7.

Action center won't open

Dev manager won't open

Display won't open

Power option won't open

Sensors won't open

Taskbar won't open

troubleshooting won't open

Win firewall won't open

and all of those icon missing ( see again screenie above )

"Snap-in failed to initialize" error message when you open Microsoft Management Console

To resolve this behavior, add the %SystemRoot%\System32\WBEM folder to your PATH environment variable. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  • On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
  • Under System Variables double-click the PATH environment variable.
  • Type:
    %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\system32\WBEM
Note If other system variables appear, do not remove them.
  • Click OK, and then click OK.

got headache. searching help but no luck.

Run full scan MBAM and it pick up nasty trojan " LOADER.exe " inside system32. Curious where come from. Must be medicine I used already packed with this malware.

last option >> RE-INSTALL then choose upgrade. So, data, setting and program still there.

thank for all your attention and suggestion.

cheers

EDIT : make full back up /system image to prevent this in the future

Whatever you LOL,..I would not change my mind about AV and still " Happy User with No AV " :)

This is first time my old PC infected with nasty Trojan since 7 years back live without AV. Glad I still had strong and best Anti Malware.

Sounds like spudboy is on the correct course ...

You can set your service starts back to default with Black Viper's reg files ... pick you correct version of Windows 7, download and unzip the file then run the reg file.

http://www.blackviper.com/2009/10/03/windows-7-services-registry-files/

I like to use the "Safe" version of his Windows 7 Reg files.

have a look and used "safe" version and progress nothing

Sounds like you were messing about with Windows Services & disabled something you shouldn't have.

last time I used Rejzor avast uninstaller to remove AV from XP

I would try the regular version, not the "safe" one. The other one isn't NOT safe, it's just the Windows defaultl settings. The one marked "safe" still has some things disabled. I had this exact same problem and using BlackVipers registry file solved it. I was unable to open services, regedit, defrag, device manager, etc. So yeah... try the other file, not the safe one - then reboot.
