How to install Windows 8.1 from USB Stick?

Why so much science! Why? You do not really need to do anything other than find a USB stick, it must be formatted as usual (FAT32 or NTFS), save the installation files in there, and that's all.

To be able to start the installation, you only need to use the option to select booting drive. For most newer computers it is the F12 key, if You have older, then ESC, F1, Delete, or elsewhere. You must know this before beginning.

And that's all the music or science. More not needed no chemistry.

ehm.. F12? What does F12 do ?

It gets you into the boot menu. But it varies with lots of brands. I know in my hp laptop its the esc key. And yeah he's right you could just copy everything over. But some people dont want to mess up somewhere so they just prefer a software to do it for them.

with Windows 7\8\8.1 to install from USB i just copy\paste the ISO content (usually mounted with Daemon Tools) to the USB stick, formatted on NTFS file system ;)

no problems so far :showoff:

this is the same thing that Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool does
