Aida Extreme I think is its name , a sowftware realy good that can provide clear info about that aspect, or go to bios. If the temp isn't the problem you may have problems with some capacitors on the motherboard. Edited January 16, 2014 by AlexCross

AlexCross
F-Secure, the antivirus? It's a good AV, and very light, I had it installed too in the past, I don't think that it is the problem.

Whoopenstein
Boot it with a live cd/dvd (Knoppix) and see if it still reboots. If it does, it's probably hardware. If not, it's probably software related.
vregu
A few days ago I had a problem like .. and strangely enough, the problem was caused by faulty RAM .. Replace and the problem was solved
robo
"so i wiped y pc with a new install piy avg on" does that mean you did a clean install of Windows 7? If so, then I agree with Whoopentein, it probable is a hardware problem. However, when you say you have the same problem with your father in law's, that does not make sense. Maybe you are missing something here.
rajeesh
if ur not sure, then just format and reinstall win 7 and check. if still restart then check ram, smps, video driver..If everthing fails then ur motherboard is faulty.

mike.mt
You can also try to clean the gold contacts of the RAM chip/s with contact cleaner, pencil eraser or fine paper to remove any oxidization that might have built up.A blocked up CPU fan or faulty Power Supply Unit can also cause these symptoms. Or in the worst case scenario as rajeesh mentioned, it could boil down to the motherboard.
