MidnightDistortions
One thing that firefox is faster than chrome is when you are reloading a session it doesn't try to load every page at once, just the one your on.. at least that's what i notice when i'm on firefox. That must be new in their recent improvements, because FF used to take 5 minutes for me to load with many tabs+addons installed.Though even now I keep my tabs down.I noticed it sometime last year because before when you opened a session the more tabs you have the longer it takes for it to function properly lol (depending on your hardware). I try to keep my tabs less then 5 on Chrome but with FF i could have 40 tabs and it'll work just fine.
Fallon
Firefox wins with its extensions. No Ram issues here. One negative: when loading more than 150 tabs in one session, at some point FF may still crash, although this has improved a lot in 20+ versions.Chromium based Opera- maybe, but not chrome for me. Privacy is gone in chrome. At an interval they can send small scanning stuff in the background. Once you've seen their hands in your cookie jar.. well. There are things I like in chromium based browsers. Speed, stability, the absence of scrolling tabs. I think it's fine to see all tabs. A new window will do when tabs get too many!Nice posts in this thread. :coolwink:
calguyhunk
never let chrome sneak into my life...Cyberfox is the perf. solution for my *64 OS...Smart people are boycotting google and the chrome code.. B)Firefox is my browser...always+1Amen, brothers. I hear you :pope:Firefox scroll speed sucks compared to other browsers, it is simple not smooth enough for me. Goto Options>Advanced>Enable Smooth Scrolling. If that still doesn't work for you, try this or this  Martin Brinkmann of GHacks recommends the later :)The thing about Fx is that if you can think of it, you've got a way of doing it your way - either with an add-on, or a script, or through a simple about:config change :thumbsup:There are things I like in chromium based browsers. A new window will do when tabs get too many!Nice posts in this thread. :coolwink: With all the tabs visible, you can't read the headers and that's an ABSOLUTE no-no for those of us who work with a million tabs. :( Tab scrolling is an absolute boon for us. :yes:However, if you are otherwise disposed, here's what you do - go to "about:config" and change the value of "browser.tabs.tabMinWidth" to as low a value as it will allow (zero works the last time I checked). That's all. It will disable tab-scrolling. ;)Else, use an add-on for it - Either Tab Mix Plus or if you're confused with all those options, just a tiny little Custom Tab Width :DWe Fx users always have an answer for all our browsing woes. That's why Fx users will ever go anywhere else (well, maybe only it's derivatives) :P Edited January 8, 2014 by calguyhunk

Scrolling tabs make people scroll. :omg:To see more of headers with speed dial like thumbs, there is another nice extension: 'Tab Scope'. :pizza:

Just annoying how it would pop-up every time you're trying to access another tab or trying to click on an add-on icon on the nav-bar LOL! :P Edited January 8, 2014 by calguyhunk

Blackchildcx
Firefox may beat chrome in some points but still can't in the 2 most important for me.. which are Speed and Security (Not privacy) For me security and privacy goes hand in hand.. mazigh
Firefox may beat chrome in some points but still can't in the 2 most important for me.. which are Speed and Security (Not privacy)For me security and privacy goes hand in hand..Sometimes we can't find both in the same browser, I gave priority to security especially because of this video, Privacy is important but with time I concluded that it's close to impossible to achieve it, In fact I don't care that much to what Google knows about me as they care much more to be precise when displaying their Ads, and as there is much more entities spying on us everyday (NSA and its sisters in most countries around the globe, ISPs.. etc)
geeteam
One more thing, Firefox should bring on an allow addon for google users to log in and get their bookmarks, passwords and extensions on to their browsers
clubhouse
Based on personal experience I prefer Firefox, I've tried several other browsers including google and its chrome variants but, I always come back to FF.....I guess I just feel comfortable with it and its addons....Somebody metioned faggotfox....I can't seem to find it....Perhaps they could post a link.... Edited January 10, 2014 by clubhouse
calguyhunk
One more thing, Firefox should bring on an allow addon for google users to log in and get their bookmarks, passwords and extensions on to their browsersYou can already do that. Back up not just all your bookmarks, passwords and extentions, but all your settings with FEBE, and either store it locally on your PC or upload them to Box, which is integrated into the add-on. You can then integrate them for installation with CLEO and import them to be installed on another installation via OPIE. :yes:If you're just looking to backup your about:config changes, just copy your prefs.js file from the profile folder to the location of your choice. You can just copy the entire profile folder as well or individual files manually depending on what preferences you need to backup. :)You can also use Mozbackup if you're on Windows. I have never used it, but I've read good reviews on the net for years :) Edited January 10, 2014 by calguyhunk
