Alanon
So I upgrade to the latest flash and get the "black full-screen" error. There's no fix for it, just a workaround if you disable Adobe's hardware acceleration option. Thing is, when you do that, and go full-screen, the player displays a choppy low-res control bar, and generally even decreases the quality of the pictures displayed.I've tested this on several HD trailers, with and without full-screen. I use a script that enlarges the ordinary video to fill the borders of the web-page, so I compared the full-screen images to this non-fullscreen enlarged as much as possible. The difference was notable, the non-accelerated version showing choppy edges of peoples' faces, and a general grainy feel of everything. Looked more like mid-range 480p than 720p.I've also browsed the Catalyst Control Centre for settings to address the issues, but haven't found anything. Browsed the internet a bit too, and no-one seems to notice this difference. So, here's a question for you guys, if you had that error, did you see the difference, and what did you do to fix it, if anything? To those who hadn't experienced it, do you use AMD cards? jackieo
What operating system? what browser? Are you using the new HTML5 player trial, or just regular old you tube? I use FF and im not having any issues.Running Win 7your video card settings will have no effect on web flash video. ( as far as my experience goes)my laptop has AMD Radeon HD4200 no issues. latest drivers. 13.9try removing adobe flash drivers and reinstall from adobe.comyou dont have someone else using your computer by any chance?and maybe they got one of those website popups that says INSTALL FLASH, YOUR DRIVERS ARE OUT OF DATE...NEVER CLICK ON THOSE,if adobe flash needs updating, usually you get a box popup on your desktop, when you boot your pc.not from a website. Now if you are on you tube and you do not have flash installed, the video player will have a blank screen and a link for flash install. unknownasphyxiated
So I upgrade to the latest flash and get the "black full-screen" error.does this "black full-screen" error happen where the red play button doesn't appear?
jackieo
Firefox Beta? that might be the reason. I never use beta soft for web. weird things happen, just like you are talking about.Always use the latest stable version of any app, (for sanity purposes) that way when things go wrong, it removes alot of questions.software in beta usually has bugs...looks like you are experiencing just that. Alanon
I don't get why I'm getting this black screen issue. Unfortunately, the add-on mazigh suggested is a bit buggy for me, but it gave me an idea, so I found a Greasemonkey script that forces the html5 player to run, and it works as it should in full-screen now.Only issue seems to be that the video always remains attached to the upper left edges, so the image is never enlarged to fit the player, no matter what size. It only works in full-screen, which finally works.

There's known issues in Chrome/Chromium which corrupts Flash Player when opening YouTube video in new tab, that will cause black screen. Also if you have flags enabled in Chromium, i.e:--enable-d3d11--enable-map-imageThose flags might cause black screen also, there's known issues.
