pr1xsel
But both have same CPU. :think:Yes both have Core i5 (3rd Generation) but one has 2.5ghz 3210m other one 2.6ghz 3230m if you bother to scroll down to see product info.
Sonar
I just purchased this Acer Aspire E1-571 i5 3230m - roughly around the same specs as your 2 models and its doing a great job.Based on the Ivy Bridge model, the Intel Core i5-3230M is a fast and reliable notebook processor. It is a dual-core processor, with each core peaking at a base speed of 2.6GHz, with the option of being overclocked to 3.0GHz. Also, the cores can handle up to four simultaneous threads, which improves the performance and resource-utilisation of the CPU. The 3230M also features HD Graphics 4000, which is clocked at 650MHz with the possibility to go up to 1150 with Turbo Boost, making respectably fast. It is a reliable piece of technology that is fitting for any gamer who wants to play from their laptop. Gamers can expect good performance from this CPU and will be rewarded with equally good gameplay.EDITyour 2 models rating by processor -> http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-3230M-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3210Mthe g500 is better. From the web site you provided you can go to 4th gen processor for a little more cash with this one:(Lenovo Essential G510 (59-398343) Laptop (4th Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 500GB/ DOS)Rating: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4200M-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3230M Edited December 23, 2013 by Sonar

Ballistic Gelatin
I have a Lenovo x230t with i7 and Win7 (64-bit). Hybrid laptop/tablet. This one will do nicely if you ever decide to start playing games. The x230t also has one of the best (if not the best) keyboards available. Lenovo is an excellent brand with its IBM heritage. jackieo
Key question- are you going to use it to play games? or just surf the web, watch videos and do homework?
dMog
you need at least a gig hard drive and why not get an i7 core??? the more computer you buy now the longer between needing to replace it

This is similar to when someone wins a marathon run and gets 0.1 hundredths of seconds better time.(One gigahertz is equal to 1,000 megahertz (MHz) or 1,000,000,000 Hz. ie it's faster 1 : 100,000,000 sec= 0.00000001 sec)

nIGHT
We have lots of lenovo laptops in our office. That is a sign of durability and reliability. But still it helps if you read the user reviews when evaluating these products. ;)

Turk
I have 3 Thinkpads, and never had any other brand computer. no need to say Lenovos sturdy durable machines. Buy cheaper one as CPU speeds practically same, however if one of them was 6MB cash then it would have been a significant difference in terms of CPU capability. Game is actually GPU (graphic) issue, not CPU. I5 CPUs are fixed to mobo in lenovos, you can not upgrade. I do not play games but I do heavy multiple tasks, rendering, images etc, if it is an option, upgrade ram to 8 gb, replace 500GB HDD with 250GB SSD or even 128SSD. you are done for 10 years. :)
dMog
i have a new HP core i7 notebook it has two graphics cards... i defaulted to the high end card for all my pictures and picture editing software... i do not play games on my notebook but i do need a very good graphics card for all the pictures i take and editing them....i terabyte hard drive and also have a 1TB usb 3 drive and a 2TB usb3 drive ....my brother just got a new notebook too his was only a i5 core and smaller graphics card and less ram...not much of a noticeable difference in speed but processing picture and video files his compared to mine... there noticeable differences and if he tries to process too big of a file he runs into problems..i would also suggest saving a bit more cash and getting more computer as turk suggested to you
