The thing is that using VPN don't give you a unic IP address, so you are using the same ip with other 50 - 100 users. Google is trying to understand how you browse the internet and when you do something unusual, they show the captcha, from what I know. jackieo Posted December 22, 2013 Share Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) Back in 2005-6 I had a website and a forum and I got drive-by spam ALOT on my forums page.Captcha helps to eliminate web-crawler-bots that drop advertising spam on your forums.Every day I would have to login as admin and clear bot spam postings all over my forums....it was quite a hassle.
