ImTOO MPEG Encoder is 'listening'

hi all

ImTOO MPEG Encoder 5.1.24.0414

Xilisoft Video Converter 5.1.24.0414 (same program as above just different name)

Right this program is giving everyone a headache, basically you install it, register with serial, then block it from accessing the internet, but it still becomes 'unregistered' or says 'you are using a crack, click here to purchase...', I want to know how it knows? thanks

I have tried everything, installing, reinstalling, disconnecting from net and blocking after registering, using different firewalls to block...

It just somehow connects to the internet or something and unregisters itself!

Maybe its just out to get you :dance2:

For this I usually have answers, this time Im as stumped as you are.

Have you tried disconnecting (physically) from the net completely?

Stumped, not really, you disable the main exe from connecting to the internet, but it's probably got some other .exe or .dll that loads and connect to the internet, just block all .exe files in its directory from internet access

Hi donizme,

I tried with the latest version Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 5.1.3.1009

and after blocking the sites accessed by the program :

MODELAYER.COM:208.43.79.128 - 208.43.79.159 (http port)

server5.imxilisoft.com :72.51.32.0 - 72.51.47.255 (https port)

The program first accept the licence and registered it, but later it shows a window with a tip telling that you are

using a the cra.. version. This means that the licence is blacklisted ( the list is archived inside the program itself)

there is no issue with internet here.

All what you need to make it works is a licence not blacklisted.

@donizme

Baah

I just realise that the pop up window "You are currently using the crack version..."  is only a nag screen and it did not stop the program of working.

this is easy to defeat. I can PM you the solution. :)
