tezza
You can't uninstall it, only disable AFAIK in Win8.1 Edited December 15, 2013 by tezza
AlienForce1
why you did that ?After installing Win.8.1 I disabled Windows Defender (from it`s GUI) . I thought that if I uninstall complete Defender maybe the PC will be faster - it seems that was a silly ideea - I didn`t notice any big improvement .Now , can you help me to remove .reg leftovers ? dMog
i would suggest you do no such thing...for one. if have to ask how it suggests you really do not the ramifications of deleting reg keys and exactly what it would do to your system...i suggest you follow the "hot vet's" advice that is above this post and go no further ...not to mention why on earth would you want to uninstall it...most microsoft stuff is hard wired so deep into the OS that removing them would screw your computer up so bad you will to have to reinstall everything....keep your system as clean as possible that means do not install every program you think you need only to want to take it off later and install 5 more programs only uninstall them tooedit...i too was going to add link here to tell you how to delete reg keys but then i thought if i did you might actually do it...besides "hot vet" already provided the same link i was going to Edited December 15, 2013 by dMog

Avitar
adminCMD: " sc /delete <<service_name_here>> " in registry GUI: right click->owner-><<change_to_you>>, Permissions-><<click_your_name>>->special permissions->full control, right click-> "delete" No need for third party software. BTW: If you crash your system deleting registry entries- Hold F8 while startup-> safe mode. If it's locked, there's probably a good reason for it. tezza
@tezza.Must agree with @Steel.Follow the instructions he gave and it does work.Untill i am shown proof of an article on safely uninstalling Windows Defender from Win 8.1 , i would not even think of doing it. As i have said, it would be great and and many would do it ( myself included ), but have never found one claiming how to do it :)just read a bit further down & U will see V8.1 is in the makingExactly, was in the making for Win8, was never made, and not for Win8.1 :) Edited December 16, 2013 by tezza
