Ballistic Gelatin
You have to admire Bezos for his extraordinary vision. Sadly, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is ill-equipped to deal with such a delivery solution. It has a hard enough time handling private and commercial air traffic as it is. (Hmm...is that my new Xbox hovering at the door?)

(Hmm...is that my new Xbox hovering at the door?)If this system is NOT abused and it is well organized and planned out in a manner that is not causing all sorts of problems, it would be a pretty fast way to receive orders. Part of this taking place is also to acclimate the people to accept the regular fly by of drones when later on, if need be, the government will weaponize them OR hackers could cause them to crash or program them to deliver to the wrong address. Perhaps drone pilots need to be employed at Amazon shipping HQ, they could create divisional departments state wide where they hire drone pilots to fly a specified path. It somehow makes me feel better if they were piloted by people rather than being autonomous.

After completing their tours of duty, the guys and gals at the Pentagon who pilot the drones overseas will likely have nice jobs waiting for them at Amazon. But it will take a truly hardened system to deflect the most determined hackers intent on diverting shipments (and my new Xbox) to their doorsteps.
