windows 8.1 x86_64 suddenly very slow

Hi, one of my machines suddenly became very very very slow, application take minutes to start, the desktop takes 15 minutes to log in. Although when a window is open moving it around feels normal

I checked the disk with check disk, not a single error, troubleshooting is extremely difficult because everything takes forever.

I do see a warning about a missing DLL for Nero and sometimes some other weird non descriptive balloons with errors pop up, I removed Nero but the slowness remains

I am using kaspersky pure up to date

check Task Manager-Performance-Disk to see the percentage. If it is 100% then something on your pc is doing some very expensive disk activity. Find it and kill/prevent it from loading if that's an option.

and chkdsk may not give error but you may have delayed read/write in some sector that is apparent only when the HDD is trying to access specific files in damaged areas. In that case HDD Regenerator may fix the problem, if not then you gotta start looking at replacing the hdd, and if you can afford it then go SSD you will be surprised at how it transforms your pc.

Have you tried using the sfc /scannow function in command prompt (admin) ?

Run the system diagnostics under performance in the computer management window. That should get you started in the right direction.

I can't, the it's too slow; Recovery doesn't work either, it asks for the install media, I can't create install media because it's windows 8.1 and it windows won't let you, only windows 8
