front360
I want to use Ccleaner's skip UAC feature without changing the UAC settings. This feature was added in v3.19.1721 (option to skip User Account Control (UAC) warning) It was working in Windows 8 but in Windows 8.1 it's not :angry:I can't find the fix yet, but I know there was one here on nsane. Is this problem occurring on an Admin Account? I think I read something saying that, in your User Account, you had to set UAC in Windows to "Never Notify"(Remember your current setting, you will return it later), and then log off. Now log in to an Admin Account and right-click CCleaner.exe or CCleaner64.exe(whichever you use to run Ccleaner) then click properties, then the compatibility tab. I think I read that you have to check off "run this program as an administrator"(Possibly click "Change Settings for All Users" before applying check mark). Then log off Admin Account and log back in to your User Account and make sure you have "Skip user account control warning" checked off in Ccleaner's advanced options. Then return your Windows UAC setting back where you had it before you set it to "Never Notify".If it doesn't work, restart your computer and see if it's now fixed. If it still doesn't work, in User Account right-click CCleaner.exe or CCleaner64.exe to check setting for "run this program as an administrator".I hope someone that already fixed this issue can explain it better then I remember, sorry. I wish I could test this but I don't have this issue with my Win8.1 Pro x64 laptop.

To skip the UAC, Ccleaner creates a Scheduled Task entry to get the elevated privileges but I don't know why it's not there on my system :( That's the main cause for this problem. Works fine on win8.1x64 here out of the box stock. You don't need to mess with uac settings. Perhaps - Uninstall the dang Ccleaner .. do some manual registry and folder cleanup of let overs. Make sure the ccleaner scheduled task is gone. Reinstall it 2 minutes or more after a restart. Edited December 1, 2013 by mikie
front360
slimrock, I know what it does, sorry for confusion, just trying to help. If you export(backup) the task, then delete it and uncheck/recheck that skip UAC option in Ccleaner, does it recreate the CCleanerSkipUAC task in task scheduler? If not, I can export the task and send it to you. If all settings are correct, but still doesn't work then try what I mentioned in post #26.
