Lacius
hi:One additional question even I installed Avast, what is your opinion of free antivirus from Windows with the nane Windows Essencials? What is going to happen to it after 2014, same as XP updates? Thanks for the helpMicrosoft Security Essentials will no longer receive automatic updates after Windows XP loses support in April. It's theoretically possible to manually install definition updates downloaded from Microsoft's website, but it's not worth it. If you are going to continue using Windows XP after it loses support in April, which is not recommended, you should use an antivirus program like Avast and not Microsoft Security Essentials.Microsoft Security Essentials (AKA Windows Defender on Windows 8/8.1) will continue to receive updates on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8/8.1. appzter
Yes, the AV from Qihoo (like the one from its Chinese competitor Baidu) are very lite, but based on test-reports they don't seem to be very effective at real-time protection! :wtf:
