Beamslider
I ready to put Windows 8.1 on an older Lenovo laptop that has no Lenovo support for Windows 8. I assume that most everything will work with provided drivers right from install. Laptop has 250GB SSD that will be used for install and 1GB HD that will be used for file storage. The Lenovo is Y560 with switchable graphics (Intel/Radeon HD 5730). Is there a Windows 8.1 driver for this combo or would it be better to just disable the Intel graphics from Bios?Anyone tried Windows 8.1 on this laptop or similar? eurobyn
you just have to load both drivers for the switchable to work.after this clean install off windows 8.1 you do not need to do anything.windows updates will see youre both graphics cards and will give you the drivers you need.and with a ssd to start from it will be a very nice system.just make sure you place the temp folders outside the ssd !if you want more support you can go to the lenovo site to download the more addon things you want get started
Beamslider
Just installed and the switchable graphics work fine. Everything else is good except the broadcom bluetooth. Will see what I can find to fix that and it should be good to go.Definitely faster on the laptop than Windows
Francois L.
I had the same problem with the best quality IBM W520 with WINDOWS 8 and I found the problem is: It takes disables the function in the BIOS when the computer startsNVIDIA’s Next Generation Notebook Technology: OptimusTM .Must choose between the INTEL or NVIDIA graphics, it is one or the other one, I do not think there is a solution because the driver is incompatible with OPTIMUS WIN-8 ..Test the disabled in WIN-7 I never had a problem and I'm sure we do not have a problem with the driver my computer.Lenovo.ico
