SnakeMasteR
Install Win 7 and set it up like you did with 8.1 again (same software etc.), if you don't like it, go back to 8.1, that is the only way to compare both with each other.Upgrade your RAM to 8 GB and install a 64bit version (7/8, your choice). :)

VileTouch
see this article that mentions your proccessor vs Windows 8.1http://www.pcworld.com/article/2058683/new-windows-8-1-requirements-strand-some-users-on-windows-8.htmlif that's not an issue for you then keep using it, if you feel it hampers the usefulness of your computer, then use

amuk
I can commiserate with you. Windows 7 ran much faster on my PC despite what is said about Win 8 using less resources.I stuck with Win8 thinking that 8.1 would improve things. Alas, my AMD processor can't take Windows 8.1 (not that it's probably any better than Win8) and I can't face reinstalling all my programs into WIndows 7 again :-(So I'm sticking with Win 8 but I long for the old Windows 7. Freddy Anderson
Windows 8.1 is better than Win 7. Uses less resources and runs smoother and faster than other windows. Especially, if you are someone who likes gaming, with Direct X11.2 Windows 8.1 is simply best.

Alpha1BA
Hiya, LTNS! thought i'd say my bit as im in exact same position... recently purchased an Acer S3-951 running Win7 HP pre-installed on an i5 1.6 with turbo to 2.4 and 4 giga ram, was running beautifully!!!! installed 8.1 pro instantly lost bluetooth completely and cant upgrade to latest drivers on some devices!!! personally using 8.1 ive found myself dl progs and deleting features to make it more like win7!!!! go figure and as far as the memory lag on one hand its great but on the other it's sh*t! seems to clash with certain progs and literally grinds to a halt!!!! as my win7 was preinstalled and my backups were on dvd im subsequently downloading 7 and have 4 mins left till I can convert to a usb andre-install win7!!!Hope you're well! demoneye
welp , finally i go my decision , since win7 is same as win8.1 regarding to mem use , resource loaded and computer respond , i decide to stick to 8.1 , to be in the front regarding the OS , but not coz win8.1 is better its coz its newer that all :)R.I.P win7 ! i love yo so much :(cheers :D
