Administrator Lite Posted November 5, 2005 Administrator Share Posted November 5, 2005 They are useless. They do virtually nothing. Don't waste your time.
undeleted_xp
you mean its better not to use any of this programs? what about MemTurbo 3 posted at the downloads area? Im confused.
nsane
lite's somewhat right, if your a basic surf-n-stuff-user you don't really need it. but i find memturbo3 useful for clearing up some ram before really intensive games and other such tasks (video encoding, compressing large files, etc.)...and memturbo is prolly your best bet too, best i've found any ways, very small app and it gets the job done

Administrator Lite Posted November 5, 2005 Administrator Share Posted November 5, 2005 They do NOT work. They ARE pointless on windows 2000 and XP. These operating systems have good memory management, they will automatically free memory if its needed. On Pre-Windows 2000 operating systems, perhaps they where needed, not now.Possibly they will SLOW down your computer opposed to "speeding" it up. I can't find the links, but theres evidence behind what i say....Nsane seems to be stuck to his old windows 98 habits....
Guest volko
If you want to free up memory, I'm assuming you want your PC to go faster. A good product for that is PC Pitstop Optimize. It does everything - it optimizes your internet connection, memory, hard-drive performance...loads of things. I seriously recommend it. There's just the small problem of it costing 30 bucks or so...
