This application remind me good old days, talking about 12 years ago it was one of the first security software i use to install my old machine.....when there is no competition this was the excellent software, like one and only, how about now season has changed its not summer anymore rain comes and wipe away some goody. I think they are little behind from the technology, however respect good old Zonelabs..

Ah… I second that ^^

Personally, I used TinyFirewall before it became a HIPS/Firewall, and before it was sold to eEyeSecurity (if I remember well), coupled with a IDS/Firewall called BlackIce (sold too, then discontinued). I loved them and they were free !

Too bad we can't get an hold on program like them anymore. :(

Some Kaspersky users prefer to use separate firewall , I think this firewall is the most compatible , I test it now together

Have used ZASS for almost a decade. But, in past, this software has become bulky, as it slows down the PC. Now, on Windows 8.1 64-bit, I am running Norton 360 premier, which is doing a good work. And, waiting for the Kaspersky's new release.

New ZA Pro, if light on resources, can be a good option those who want a separate firewall, a different antivirus and antimalware/spyware.

How is the performance of ZA Pro hamede??? Can you advise.

Why not just use the Free version. About the only 2 differences between ZA Free & Pro is 24/7 live chat, and creating your own rules. Both of which are pretty much useless if you are just looking for something that asks for in/out access for apps on your PC.

If you go with pro, it can be made pretty light by disabling and/or not installing the things you don't need and disabling the Zone Alarm Privace service.

Thanks for the information. Looks ZA has improved. As for Norton 360, it is taking 10-15 MB maxium, when it's doing some background tasks.

How to

- Install the program 1st choose trial 30days

- update program Database Antivirus / Anti-spyware untill uptodate, then exit program from system tray.

- Disable Internet Connection.
