Roger D Posted November 5, 2013 Share Posted November 5, 2013 (edited) After Windows XP, M$ has removed default inbuilt picture viewer( Windows Picture and Fax viewer) that can play Gif animation. :doh: But here's the way to get it back again in Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1.. :yes: Xp style:Windows 7 Style:Download:http://www.solidfiles.com/d/d176b7e710/Instructions:-----------------------------------1) Run Windows Gif Viewer.exe As Administrator. 2) Copy shimgvw.dll and Paste into C:\Windows\gif( You can skip this step if you like XP Style) 3) In C:\Windows\gifSelect rundll32, Right Click and Go to Properties 4) In Compatibility Tab Tick Run this program in compatibility mode for: 5) And Select Windows Vista. 6) Click Apply and OKDone!! Note: 1) Follow instructions as stated above, otherwise it'll always prompt irritating Admin right. 2) After Installing Select Gif image Open with Default Windows Picture and Fax Viewer 3) To Uninstall Run Windows Gif Viewer.exe again As Administrator. 4) Gif extension will change to Tif extension..Enjoy :cheers: Edited November 6, 2013 by Roger D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Time to move ON buddy :o !!!Download Link: http://www.xtreme-lab.net/7gif/downloads/7gif107_setup.exe thx alot, i didnt know this one (looks good), installing it now.when i searched (a while after win7 sp1 release) for an free and slim alternative i found only gifview.exe, but i dont really like it, it kind of didnt fit in... yeah i know, its silly.anyway, whats the problem with those M$ morons? since win7 tons of peoples were complaining about the lack of support (worst,the removal of an feature present in older version) of animated GIFs.
