Hello All,

Okay here is my issue. When I create a portable app and then run it, the Directory folder its hidden.

My question is: Can I change this through the procedure of creating the portable app?

I want the app have its folder unhidden by default when opening it first time.

Thanks

When the portable app is created and then I move it on another PC, when I run it I cannot find the directory where it extracts in order to run.

You can view step by step in this video:

http://www.mediafire.com

sharecode: /download/5od1v2yvjoi9dxq/7_portable.rar

I watched the video but still the same issue. I want the exe. without the .dat ..... still when I transfer the portable .exe on other PC and run it I cannot find its directory.

watch at 4:27

can you record a video about your problem ?

Unfortunately not. at 04:27 its the sandbox directory. I dont want the sandbox directory. I can find the sandbox directory under users/thinapp etc. I need the actual directory of the portable. when you run the portable app it extracts in a directory and then runs. i am not sure you can follow me.

try to check in %temp%

i don't think it extracts something else before running

I found that it extracts where you have installed the software. when you create the portable it takes the same directory as the installed one but it is hidden. If you unhide the folders you cannot see it. I want this to be done by default from the creation of the portable. Basically I want the folder to be unihidden. Its complicated. ouf

hey when you run a thinapp application it does not extract everything. It only caches the files it uses in its sandbox, mostly its run from memory. the sandbox is the only folder it uses unless you create a file in some user directory somewhere. eg. a .doc file or a video etc. Thats why its called a virtual app because it runs whthout extracting its files. Cameyo on the other hand extracts its files to a temp directory. Spoon studio does not extract its files either, just caches what it needs and also mostly runs from memory.
