jalaffa
VirtualBox is an application installed on an existing host operating system; within this application, additional operating systems can be loaded and run, each with its own virtual environment. For example, several Linux distributions can be hosted on a single machine running Windows XP; likewise, XP and Vista can run on a machine running Linux, and so on. There is a free for personal or evaluation use proprietary version and a GNU General Public License (GPL) version. Thanks to Progressive for the update.Download

banned
Wich is better this or VMware? I like VMWare's feature set better, but I imagine it embeds itself more deeply into the system (drivers, services, and such) than VirtualBox. demoneye
Wich is better this or VMware?Vbox , it use less pc resource that mean your guest machine will run faster , also it doesn't use any auto-start permanent services like vmware .if you want to use and set vmware as a productive station for serious matter , he is the real deal :)
anakin206
Thanks both @banned and @demoneye for your opinions. ^_^I have been using VMware now I'll try VirtualBox and see what happens

banned
also it doesn't use any auto-start permanent services like vmwareIf one knows what he or she is doing, all VMWare services can be set to 'Manual' mode. They don't have to be running all the time, nor do they need to be started manually before firing up a VM (depending on configuration). Kernel-mode drivers might be a different story however.. but I imagine both VirtualBox and VMWare install drivers that load at boot time. One can use Autoruns or Process Explorer/Hacker to determine that. Edited November 3, 2013 by banned
