provision
Hi,I have one question which one is better TuneUp Utilities 2014 or Auslogics BoostSpeed?
TheAslan
Neither, I think that better option is to use CCleaner and Defraggler, as far as I know those apps which keeps running in background only makes your computer slower over time, those makes decisions by itself without asking your permission, no matter how you configure its settings. For example my laptop runs much smoother and faster now when I stopped using TuneUp Utilities. Airstream_Bill
Well I do not have an answer to your question, but Happy Halloween to you. I personally do not like any of those type programs. I mess with them from time to time but they will always do something that they shouldn't. Just my opinion.
unknownasphyxiated
i don't quite sure because i don't use both of the software right nowi might go with Boostspeed if you ask me which one im gonna choose right nowused to like TuneUp but after several update and changes plus sold to AVG, it make pc slower instead of faster
vregu
Wise Care 365 better than Auslogics and Tuneup... my view.
TShadow
Tried them all, I use some utilities from the older Boostspeed like Internet optimizer, and the visual tweaker. All of this stuff actually makes the system running slower. I use however from time to time Yamicsofts Windows Manager which does have some nice non obtrusive utilities which do not interfere with the OS.For general cleaning couldn't find nothing better than ccleaner. . phenomkillerz
use this Windowsxp/7/8 Manager or jv16PowerTools and CCleaner :showoff:
Gabben
I uninstalled TuneUp Utilities 2014. I used it since 2011. AVG made that just like their security software... a total crap. Auslogics also made some changes in their major new version wich i don't like but it's way better than TuneUp. I think the best is the new IObit ASC Pro 7.I always see some folks complaining about the background processes. If your computer can't handle it then you need to buy a new one bacuse no software is gona make that old crap better. Keep only those software on your computer that you REALLY need. That is the one rule not the background process bullshit.
Roger D
use this Windowsxp/7/8 Manager or jv16PowerTools and CCleaner :showoff:+1
TheAslan
I have very powerful laptop (cost $2614 US dollars) so it's not cheap old crap laptop, but still I noticed that TU makes computer slower when it runs in background, for example it changed my registry options (it disabled ssd trim option all the time), when I uninstalled TU trim option stay enabled, also it makes your computer start/shutdown slower. No matter how expensive computer you have, it's always recommended not to run any background process app.
hamede
I tested several maintenance applications during last years , to speed up my PC , I was harm my HP lab !!I found that without any of them , my PC became faster , and faster why ?All of them always running on background so always load my PC . USE ONLY CCleaner .If you still want to use maintenance application , I suggest you only one application " Wise Care 365 " do nice job without noticed loadTuneUp Utilities 2014 or Auslogics BoostSpeed !!! heavy load :showoff:My opinion , my respect
banned
used to like TuneUp but after several update and changes plus sold to AVGI have not updated my TuneUp since they sold to AVG. I still use part of it, like the registry editor (NOT cleaner). It has a nice search function (also does jv16). I feel that automatic registry cleaning is generally just a bad idea. Gabben
No matter how expensive computer you have, it's always recommended not to run any background process app.No...you must stick to those softwares that you really need. This background process thing is like complaining about the RAM usage. Like when an antivirus uses 100MB instead of 50 or 10. Or like when the installation file is 200MB or 50MB. Who the hell cares when you have a powerful computer? Who cares when the software is working and you like it? TuneUp probably made your computer slower because it has a Live Optimization feature that is turned ON by default.
TheAslan
I don't care how much ram my app eats, or how much it consumes cpu usage, but still I think that background processes slows your computer down.

I don't know the technical details behind this it just notified me every time wich also was very annoying. You can find similar features in Auslogics(default ON), IObit(default OFF) and in Ashampoo WinOptimizer 10(default OFF). banned
As far as I'm aware, the live optimization feature was simply adjusting process priorities. Similar to how you can do with Process Lasso.

banned
That's because Windows is already pretty well optimized for process and thread priority. It gives foreground applications a 3x boost compared to background apps.
