SacredCultivator
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, wasn't sure if in software/technology. Anyway my question becomes, my Router supports 3 DNS Servers... Am I able to use/mix multiple DNS Servers?
Chancer
Routers generally prioritise so the first one you enter will be the first port of call, if that fails it will try the second etc.I have my ISP in the first slot and Google's DNS in the second. unknownasphyxiated
if im not mistaken, it won't use all DNSit just use one and if the one fail, it will go to 2nd DNS listed
SacredCultivator
Ah I see, thanks. Yeah I wasn't too sure about that so I guess I can just use each option and not input both Addresses from the same DNS Server. As I was reading from Here so thought to try out the top three. Chancer
You can also enter DNS servers in the options for your network adapter. This is generally the address of your router - but not always.I have Server 2012 on my network and it hijacks the settings as it wants to be DNS server - I had to put it back to the router. majormalfunction
Steve Gibson at GRC has a utility called DNS Benchmark that's been out for years. It will generally find the fastest and/or most reliable dns servers around you. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to run. You can add in a list of specific dns servers you want it to compare as well. It's pretty easy to use. You'll get much more accurate results if you're not loading your connection down with other *cough* high bandwidth *cough* activities when you run the tests. Pick the three best and load 'em in! :notworthy:

Yorel
you can always use Google DNS8.8.8.88.8.4.4I'd rather use DNS from 2 different sources due to availability. As Chancer, I have as 1st option my ISP DNS and Google the second one.
