Please be so kind to assist me. I am running Win 8 pro with wmc activated by skype. I back-up my activation using Advanced Tokens Manager v3.5 RC 3. Can I use this activation back-up to restore my activation if I update to Win 8.1.

Your assistance will be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Well I know windows 8.1 is offered free for windows 8 geniune users ...

For your case if you don't have media center and made a backup it will work but with media center it will not.

So the answer is No.

there are 2 method:

1. Update windows 8 to 8.1 directly from store, it will download w8.1 with wmc and update your system. I did it on my own computer and it still activated.

2. Mount your wim file, make it into w8.1 with wmc, add the backup files to the store folder, set wmc license key that you used to activated before. Unmount the wim file.

if anyone use win8Pro+WMC Activated& have confirmed ID of Win 8 WMC he can activate his win8.1WMC Previous Key C.ID. But win8.1 Pro must be activate by new Key. It is applied only in case when anyone download Win8.1 Pro From other than Microsoft Store/ Internet other site.
