I use Acronis 2014 and have had no problems. I've had to restore my system several times and everything worked perfectly. My OS is Windows 7 X86.

Went to their site looking for info about this, and...:

Symantec System Recovery 2013.

But no medicine. Share it, if someone has it.

Info on server ed. only, and no d/l link:

Symantec System Recovery 2013
Key: 03-xxxxx.xxxxxxx

I have avoided anything by them or norton for a very long time because the stuff was always extremely limited bloatware - Ghost/DOS was very light & good, but that was where I drew the line.

Curious to know if anyone has this app to share (desktop or server ed.) and to hear what it is like in terms of lightness.

Always interested to know of good backup options...if this is one ?!?

Thanks.

Here is a link to SPRECD v5.0.4 CD(not the latest) but still..very fast and reliable for backup of Windows 8, 7, XP, Vista, and 2000 OS....8.1 is not officially supported...

This is ShadowProtect Bootable Recovery Environment CD ISO...No need to install on the system...

No need for fix/medicine..just use YUMI/Easy2Boot to make bootable usb...using the ISO...

*remove/home/ and add the remaining sharecode to the site's url in addressbar for downloading the ISO

How to work with sharecodes?

i could say acronis 2014 (not installing this) just use the bootcd.

just remember of taking a backup youre self.

and for the one on one copy off the files use syncback pro.

how i do it : clean install (backup with bootcd acronis)

install all software and make again a full backup with acronis

then i make another after all updates of microsoft updates .

then i use sysncback pro.

never failed this way.

Thanks.

Absolutely essential features:

3. Snapshot management, including create, lock, unlock, delete.
4. Ability to verify the integrity of the snapshots.
6. Ability to change the storage drive for the snapshots.

And...

Without that last feature this app is really of no interest at all.

As posted before - there really are not very many good/light/small snapshot utilities, and this one only seems worthwhile in the payware version.

And BTW, I do use Drive Snapshot - and it is great too - but it's name is misleading=> it is an imaging app.

For snapshots I use an older version of Driveclone (before they removed that feature), and it works OK.

The problem I have with it is in taking snapshots manually - it fails, usually.

This means I have to allow it to make them at each boot, which is excessive and hard to manage as the user cannot label them.

The Keriver one is a real snapshotting util and is likely better than Driveclone in the 'pro' version only.

In fact there's still lots of good members here using 7 and even XP.

So this is good for many people still.

(They can rub their balls all they want - it don't matter to me.)
