While the PS3 will release in Spring 2006, Sony encourages gamers to make their own games for the PlayStation 3.

Sony has written a program inviting video gamers to be part of the PlayStation 3 game production process. The new program, urges gamers to create in-game scenarios and design schematics for new game titles on the PS3.

The PS3 program is called "Game Yaroze! 2006", which stands for "Let's Play Games". This is already a Sony established tradition, because the first time the original Game Yaroze program appeared was in 1995 after a launch of the original PlayStation 1.

The program for the original PS was a complete success. Most of the game titles for PS1 were produced by amateur video game programmers and designers.

Both professional and amateur video game designers are expected to join the campaign and the winner will be granted free access to a Sony studio and development team. All funding and living expenses will be included.

The winner will be responsible for managing and directing his or her own game into production.

The deadline for the campaign will be February 2006, while the website will be launched on November 15th. The date being very close to Microsoft Xbox 360 launch date.

It's true, that gamers are always willing to lend a helping hand.
