shorty6100
For now, I give up on Windows 8.1 until a successful activation (KMS or otherwise) of Office 2013 Pro Plus. I cannot get any version of Skype to work. During offline activation calling +448000188354 I get a prompt "press 1 for home, 2 for business". I keep pressing 1 and I get "you have not chosen a valid option".I found a valid Windows 8.1 iso and activated it with my paid Windows 8 Pro key through the phone (I don't know why it did not work initially-found a general installation key on the internet).Fortunately, I made a Macrium Reflect Restore Image just in case something went wrong. I now have Windows 8 Pro back with Office 2013 Pro Plus activated with Microsoft Toolkit. I, along with many others, am anxiously awaiting an easier way to activate Office 2013 on Windows 8.1. I like 8.1 and am hoping this will be resolved soon. I simply cannot afford Microsoft Office. Edited October 10, 2013 by shorty6100
Lacius
Office 2010 can be KMS-activated with MTK on Windows 8.1. Other options include but aren't limited to OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Google Docs, etc.

Wrong...You can activate Windows 8.1 Pro offline with a key by using Skype.. I did too, I have Windows 8.1 Pro + Media Center and Office 2013 Pro Plus, all activated without using a legit bought key...

shorty6100
Thanks for everyone's input. I can activate Windows 8.1 legally (I bought a legit key for Windows 8 last year for 14.99 dollars- it's Office 2013 that's the problem. Like I said, until a newer version of Microsoft Toolkit can activate Office 2013, I'll stick with version 8.Office Pro Plus is activated. The reason I posted this in the first place was to get general feedback. I was curious if anyone else downgraded to 8.
tezza
@shorty6100,You could be waiting days, months, years or there may never be a kms activator for 8.1. Why not just use an ONLINE activation key for Office 2013, when they are available, it doesn't get easier than that :) Edited October 10, 2013 by tezza
