LiLmEgZ
The BIGGEST advantage is that you get continued patches/updates for Windows 7... XP's cut-off date is April 8th 2014 (that's approaching very very fast)Another big advantage is that you will be able to play newer games that require DirectX 10 or better. To answer the software question... most if not all software from XP is compatible, but do beware you may need a newer version of some things to work on Windows 7I also want to say that your hardware will work waaaay more better under Windows 7 rather than it does on XP... everything is just more smooth like butter! :) Edited October 9, 2013 by LiLmEgZ

eurobyn
as i said before , microsoft is pushing us all to use at least windows 7 or higher.(ms)stop using xp (ms) will not let you do it anymore.as an example patch Tuesday (a lot of people have problems now) stop using xp .or stop using updates - internet !i could quote RAMIZ0i use windows 8.1 with start is back + and it is very nice (do whe have another choice)it is a fact that ms is making us to upgrade. Whoopenstein
Win 7 is prettier than XP. Windows Explorer is poop in 7 (compared to XP), They moved the "show desKtop" to the lower right corner. If you like to hide the taskbar - it sucks. Win 7 updates = The way I figure it, MS opens a backdoor for the NSA and when someone discovers and exploits it, they release a "patch" to close it and at the same time open a new way in for the NSA. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm just going to assume. . . So no new patches for XP - what's worse - NSA or hackers?
